Côtes-de-Fer, nicknamed the "coast of beauty" has an area of 190.36 km2 and a population estimated at 70,000. Located in the department of South-east,it is limited to the east by the borough of Bainet, to the north by the town of Petit-Goâve, to the west by the borough of Aquin & Miragoâne, and south by the Caribbean Sea. For a population equipped with so little guidance, it is armed with great courage. She is very courteous, always willing to help each other, and has great musical and artistic talents. The region's inhabitants live from fishing, planting and crafts.
